Miller’s songs have sold in the hundreds of millions with recordings by some of the biggest recording artists of all time, such as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Ross, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick, Jr., Celine Dion and even Justin Beiber. His songs have been featured in numerous top-grossing films and on countless television shows throughout the decades and have won multiple Grammy Awards including for “Heaven Help Us All” in 2005, the last song ever recorded by Ray Charles. Miller’s classic standard, “For Once In My Life,” is one of the most recorded songs in history, being recorded by over 400 major label artists. In 2007, “For Once In My Life” won multiple Grammy Awards for the Tony Bennett/Stevie Wonder collaboration and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for 2009. Miller received the Heroes and Legends Award (posthumously) in 2007, a lifetime achievement award in songwriting.
In 2015, Apple Computers chose Miller’s “Someday At Christmas” as their holiday message to the world. The 90 second ad was prominently featured at www.Apple.com throughout the holiday season and seen globally on every major network during December.
Miller wrote the book and lyrics to many musicals including “Daddy Goodness,” “Clothespins & Dreams,” “Satchmo,” and “Cherry,” (based on William’s Inge’s ‘Bus Stop’), for which he was handpicked by director, Josh Logan. Miller is the subject of a new film directed and produced by his daughter, Lisa Dawn Miller, entitled, “For Once In My Life – The Great American Ron Miller Songbook.” The film examines Miller’s legacy as a songwriter while it explores all the tragedies and triumphs in his personal life and what may have inspired him to write some of the greatest songs of our time.
After Miller passed away in 2007, several songs were discovered which have never been heard by (or released to) the public… until now. Of this, the younger Miller says, “I feel like I just found a treasure chest! All of these beautiful songs – that no one has heard yet – are all just as amazing as the hits….all standards, just waiting to be born and I can’t wait to share this treasure with the whole world!”
